Tajani visited the Brussels Synagogue and the Jewish Museum

The Vice President of the European Commission, Commissioner for Industry and Entrepreneurship, Antonio Tajani, visited the Great Synagogue of Europe in Brussels, to show his solidarity for the Jewish community after the attack to the Jewish Museum on Sunday. Tajani accompanied a delegation led by the President of the Jewish Community of Rome, Riccardo Pacifici, and its spokesperson, Fabio Perugia.

Tajani and the delegation were welcomed by the President of the Jewish Community of Brussels, Philippe Markiewicz, and the Brussels’ Great Rabbi, Albert Guigui. Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia from the Sant’Egidio Community attended the visit too.

In the early afternoon, Tajani and Pacifici went to the Brussels Jewish Museum. During the visit, Tajani said “ai joined the mission from Rome to testify, once more, my solidarity for the Jewish people in such a terrible moment. This tragedy reminds us that, as in Italy we fight against racism and xenophobia, in Europe we need not to let down our guard as well.”

Riccardo Pacifici, President of the Jewish Community of Rome, said “We are happy to have the possibility of sharing this solidarity mission with Antonio Tajani, who wanted to participate pour suffering for the deaths at the Brussels Museum. Tajani has always been close to the Jewish people. Persons like him are a true guarantee that the fight against each racial crime doesn’t reach compromises.”
