Privacy Policy

Personal data provided by the reader are protected pursuant to the provisions in Legislative Decree 196/2003 “Personal Data Protection Code” as amended and integrated. The publisher discloses how it protects the privacy of readers who consult its Privacy Policy on the website (set out below).

Any personal information sent to the website will be processed pursuant to the Data Protection Act. Any non-personal information disclosed to the publisher, the website operator and the blog owner (including suggestions, ideas, drawings, designs, etc.) shall grant the latter the right to use, reproduce, display, perform, modify, place and distribute that non-personal information. Communication of that information will automatically entail its transfer, free of charge and with all rights and powers, to Withub S.p.A, the publishing company of Eunews.

The website offers informative and interactive content. While browsing the website, information on the customer, or more generally on the visitor, may therefore be acquired in the following ways:

A) Navigation data

The website collects technical information about the hardware and software used by visitors, independently, using instruments that analyse the connection files. This information concerns:

  • IP address,
  • type of browser,
  • Internet service provider,
  • operating system,
  • domain name and addresses of websites from which it has accessed or exited (referring/exit pages),
  • information on website pages visited by readers,
  • access time,
  • stay on the single page,
  • analysis of internal path (clickstream)
  • video resolution
  • type of connection
  • country from where the user connects
  • presence of java plugins installed

This information does not provide personal data on the reader, but only technical/computer data collected and used in an aggregate and anonymous form solely to improve the quality of the service and provide statistics concerning use of the website. This data is deleted immediately after processing.

B) Data provided by the user

These are cases where it is the reader itself who, after reading detailed information, issues his/her personal data on the website in order to access certain services or to submit requests by e-mail. This entails acquisition by the website owner of the sender’s address and/or any other personal data. This will then be processed solely to respond to requests made or to provide the service requested. In all cases, before a given service is activated, appropriate information will be provided and, where necessary, the data subject will be asked to consent to the personal data being processed. This consent may be revoked at any time, causing the possibility to use the service in question to lapse. The data collected is kept for the time strictly needed to achieve the purpose for which it is processed, i.e. activation/management of the service requested.

C) Cookies

Cookies are items of information that can be stored on your computer while you are browsing a website, in order to process and identify usage data. The cookie file is usually very small and does not saturate hard disk space. The cookie is transferred to the reader’s disk for recording purposes to “memorise” which areas of a website have been visited. This choice saves time, enabling the reader to reach the main parts of a website previously visited more quickly. There are different types of cookies:

  • permanent that is they remain on the hard disc after the browser has been closed;
    • temporaryor session, memorised solely for the navigation duration and deleted by the computer when the browser is closed;
    • third-party, generated by a different website to the one being effectively visited.

The cookies used by the website owner are a combination of these three types: some serve only to open and maintain a session (temporary cookies). In this case, closing the session or the browser will make them unusable by us or by third parties, although they will remain on the computer being used (permanent cookies). Merely for statistical purposes, third-party cookies are also issued to measure aggregate information. In order to offer a website that responds to reader expectations and interests, the data collected on cookies is analysed continuously. This data solely and anonymously indicates how the website is used, i.e. the areas and sections that have been deemed of greatest interest and usefulness to surfers. The user has the right to set his or her browser to accept all cookies, only some, or reject them. Please note, however, that failure to accept cookies may result in not being able to provide the service when accessing certain website areas. Please also note that the user may in any case delete both the cache-memory and the cookies collected from his hard disk at the end of each browsing session.

Processing is carried out using automated tools (e.g. using electronic procedures and media) and/or manually (e.g. on paper) for the time strictly needed to achieve the purposes for which the data were collected and, in any case, in compliance with the relevant legislation in force.

PRIVACY POLICY

This information is provided pursuant to Article 13 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 “Personal Data Protection Code” (hereinafter, the “Code“), to those who connect to the website owned by Withub S.p.A. (the “Publisher“) at the address www.eunews.it (the “Website“). Its purpose is to describe how this Website is managed, referring to the processing of the personal data of users consulting it. This information is only provided for the above-mentioned website and not for any other websites that may be consulted by the user via links.

The purpose of this information notice is also to enable Website users to know why and how personal data is processed by the Publisher if they are provided.

Users should read this policy carefully before submitting any personal information and/or filling in any electronic form on the Website.

  1. TYPE OF DATA PROCESSED

The Publisher may collect certain personal data from users, such as User ID and password, first name, last name and email address, aggregate information when browsing the Website, other personal data provided voluntarily by the user during registration or when taking part in competitions or when requesting goods or services offered by the Website or when a request for information is sent to the Website by email.

The Website is accessible to users without the need to provide personal data.

1.1 Navigation data

The computer systems and software procedures used to operate this Website acquire, during normal operations, certain data that are then implicitly transmitted in the use of Internet communication protocols.

This data category includes, for example, IP addresses, domain names of computers used by users connecting to the Website, addresses in URI notation (Uniform Resource Identifier) of the resources requested, the time the request is made to the server, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server and other parameters relating to the user’s operating system and computer environment.

This information is not collected to be associated with identified interested parties and may be used by the Publisher in order to obtain anonymous statistical information on use of the Website and to check it works correctly.

The data could also be used to ascertain liability in any hypothetical computer crimes committed to the detriment of the Website.

1.2 Cookies

Cookies are text files that the Website sends to the user’s computer browser. The browser saves the information and transmits it back to the Website server when the browser accesses the Website again.

The Website uses:

(a) session cookies: that is temporary cookies that remain in the cookie folder of the user’s browser until the browsing session ends;

(b) persistent cookies: cookies that remain in the browser folder for longer (depending on the duration of each cookie).

The use of session cookies (not stored permanently on the user’s computer and deleted when the browser is closed) is intended to (I) facilitate Website navigation and the use of applications accessible from the Website itself; and (II) to obtain anonymous statistical information on use of the Website and to check that it is working properly.

The use of persistent cookies is to provide specific services requested by the user. For example, when registration is required by assigning user IDs and passwords, users are allowed to choose that these be stored so that they do not have to type them in at subsequent logins; this is done by installing a cookie on the user’s computer.

It is also possible to visit the Website without cookies. Most browsers accept cookies automatically. You can prevent the automatic registration of cookies by selecting the relevant option from those proposed by your browser. For further information on how to do this, please refer to instructions in your browser. You can delete any cookies already on your hard disk at any time through your browser.

Choosing not to accept cookies from your browser may make it more difficult to navigate the Website or limit the use of applications accessible from it.

1.3 Personal data provided by users
